Overview: The aim was to create a poster for a classmate's favorite artist, which we selected randomly by drawing names from a bowl. The names of the classmates and their favorite artists were kept secret until the reveal. I drew Colton, who is a fan of Zach Bryan, a country singer. Colton's style is a blend of semi-cowboy and modern-day clothing.

The artist I got is Zach Bryan, a country singer from Oklahoma who has been rising in popularity in recent years and has collaborated with well-known artists.
Solution:As a result, I created a poster featuring a bull skull with three distinct colors to make it stand out. The poster combines an old western feel with a semi-modern illustration style and textured elements, making it unique for Colton. I chose an orange color palette to evoke a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflects Colton’s aesthetic and personality. When I showed it to him, Colton was very happy; he felt it was a poster he would proudly display in his home and add to his collection.
Moodboards
I created 3 mood boards one for sensation and one for imagery that I associated with the music when I listened to it. and another with the artist's current merch and branding and how they showcase themselves visually.
Sketches
While creating the concept boards and sketches, I had difficulty coming up with an initial drawing concept since I was not familiar with country themes. I found a middle ground with a thumbnail sketch of a bull skull, which was an exciting subject to draw. I chose an orange color palette to evoke a warm, welcoming feel, reflecting Colton’s aesthetic and personality.
I decided on a central image layout for the poster to catch the eye from a distance.
