Group Project :6 weeks
Overview:Free2Luv is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering, uplifting, and saving the lives of youth through music, art, film, theater, dance, storytelling, and social media — the languages of youth, they provide the safe spaces and tools needed for creative self-expression, to celebrate individuality and acceptance, and transform pain into power.
Goal:For 6 weeks, my classmates and I were paired up to help a nonprofit with the design work they needed. We teamed up with Free2Luv. My role was to work on illustrations and merchandise, as well as setting up mockups of new and current merch. We spoke with them about their needs, and they wanted to promote Pride Month through their social media and merchandise.

A request that Free2Luv had was to help promote their existing merch more, so my team and I gathered volunteers from our school to help us create mockups. After receiving the final photos, me and another teammate edited them with their existing logos and artwork using Photoshop.

Merch/illustration
While being in charge of merchandise, I wanted to stay on brand. They provided me with logos and their primary font. Their branding was very nostalgic for me and was really fun to work with. I looked at their social media to see what I could come up with. I noticed they had a mascot, a horned little skeleton, which I didn’t see on current merch and thought had potential. For the crow illustration, the idea was a bit punk and cool. Crows also gather in big groups to provide safety, which aligns with what the nonprofit is all about

During this time working for Free2Luv, they wanted to show extra support to trans individuals, especially youth. This age is a crucial time for support and acceptance, and we wanted to demonstrate that love and support are here even during harsh times. I made a sticker design and a tote bag in the colors of the trans flag so anyone can show their support.
This was overall was a wonderful experience I learned so much about the LGBTQ+ community more and the nonprofit that provide a safe space for the youth.
